My roommate's cat, Ann, uses our rugs as a toilet. Our apartment has become her disposal. She has shit on the kitchen rugs, my bathroom rugs, my bedroom rug, and about seven times on the hallway rug. It is not that we don't have enough litter boxes for THREE cats in a compact two-bedroom apartment, because we have one IN THE LIVING ROOM (not my idea) as well as the bathroom. They are both cleaned out daily. She still shits on the carpet.
When she isn't shitting on the carpet, she leaves it in the box uncovered and scratches the ceiling of the box.
I don't have to describe to you what kitten shit smells like in a cramped living space.
She has also broken two lamps, eaten a hole in the cat food bag, peed on rug(s), eaten raw meat I was preparing and scratched my poor, calm kitty's nose.
Why does a cat shit on a rug?

I think this is it's way of saying: I hate animal print.
